Trends
Governments, Enterprises and Municipalities across the globe face increasingly difficult choices in managing waste produced within their boundaries. In Europe (38% at current rate are disposed at Landfills ) and the U.S., traditional mainstays of waste management, landfills and incinerators, are becoming more difficult to permit and have constructed.

Context
Environmental concerns - in particular the production of dioxins by incinerators and the leaching of landfill toxins groundwater – are the reason. Shipping costs and tipping fees (the money paid to someone to handle one's waste) are rising eroding the economic viability of "one man's trash is another man's treasure" and forcing cities to find solutions closer to home. To add to this, in an era of constrained capital and reduced budgets, publicly funded solutions are proving difficult to complete.
Initiatives
Growth Tech Ventures is currently finalizing development of 8 sites with latest technology for Refit, and combined cycle power and Waste to Green Energy Projects in US, Germany, Italy, UK, Monaco, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia that are expected to raise the bar on efficiency and economic viability while eliminating environmental impacts in the WTGE industry.
